United States Politics: It isn't even X or Y or Z, it's KKK.
The Gang Starts A Federal Constitutional Republic |
Twitter being "left-wing" was an illusion in the first place because people don't understand basic statistics regarding populations. They were confusing sampling the "elite" of the platform for the population. Even as Twitter regularly told everyone that 1% of the daily users were responsible for a massive share of the tweets. If you didn't ensconce yourself inside a bubble of any kind the diversity of Twitter's population was easy to find. The "routine" of white progressives finding "Black Twitter" and acting like they were on a Safari is just the easiest example but political people discovering how many people used Twitter just for something like sports content and not politics was another.
The only "shift" on Twitter since Elon took over has been that the 1% has moved "right" because the "left" willingly chose to abandon the platform. The "moderation" was vastly overblown, the right and anyone else was never silenced. The employees at Twitter tried to tell Elon he used the site very differently from normal users but he wouldn't listen. The same was the case for most of the lunatics who have fled for Bluesky. Members of the media were some of the worst about this. That's why ultimately Elon's greatest achievement, even if his solution was stupid, was abolishing the original Blue Check caste. The number of outright frauds and liars and sociopaths who existed in that caste was absurd, this is not to mention how entry into that caste was controlled by it and was constantly granted to irrelevant genocide mad YouTubers (MovieBob), sociopath streamers bringing about their own downfall (Keffals) and endless numbers of glorified bloggers with no ability to think for themselves who happened to work for a money laundering operation posing as a media outlet during ZIRP. If the Blue Check had been merely verification that would have been one thing, but Twitter gave it institutional priority, they had special features, favorable moderation treatment, direct access to staff, a special "feed" that prioritized their posts, the ability to not see replies from non-Blue Checks, etc. Which is the traditional result of the reactionary left's leveling methods as seen in every society and institution they get their hands on: the elevating of a self-chosen elite caste at the expense of everyone else. MAGA and the rest of the national socialist right makes the same mistake as they do, assuming that the problem is not the system but merely who is in charge. The dominance of these two "elite" classes with the same worldview is why our discussions are always about who needs to have violence done against them as if the problem is just the distribution of violence.

That doesn't mean I care much for Harris or the Democrats, just that she would have been the best worst option. Don't mistake my criticism of the Democrats with an endorsement of the Republicans.

Just over three hours until S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is playable. Going to read this to fill that time.

"Andor was good!" is one of those damning with faint praise things ...particularly when there's been how many series and seasons of SW shows already?
