and windows 11 is fully shitty, every single change is for the worse
right click menus now take 2 clicks for most functionality because they removed options to make it simpler and friendlier for morons
the basic suite of apps like notepad and calculator have all received updates that have made them worse and slower, when the whole point was being a super low footprint fast program to do minor things, now ms paint has AI integrated
they keep adding back in onedrive and turning it on automatically in each update even if you disable it
it's a fucking nightmare

all the devs are now doing ai instead of fixes (and if they aren't they got laid off)

My favourite thing about Windows 11 is that I can't upgrade my old computer to it even though it's still a fully capable machine.

Another thing that often doesn't work is clicking. The clicks just don't register for whatever fucking reason.
On my laptop I also have the 'which version of MS Teams do you want to start' bug. I don't want to start any version of MS Teams.

You might actually be able to (I did):
https://rufus.ie/en/
This will create a bootable flash drive that bypasses the 'cant install' check and can also bypass the multiple pages of BRO DO YOU WANNA SUBSCRIBE TO OFFICE 365? prompts and let you have a local user account for setup so you dont get the double fucked infinite loop of not having internet while installing -> you require an online user account to install -> but you don't have internet while installing nonsense.
YMMV on if MS deserve money for Windows 11 if you manage to install it on hardware than can run it but that MS want to upsell you onto new hardware for.
It's cold out here. 29F and I just saw a guy drive by my place on a old ww2 looking motorcycle with a sidecar. And yes, the driver was wearing a leather cap with goggles in period clothing. WTF?

For the longest time I wanted to update my laptop to 11, but it wasnt eligible even though it's a beast.
After reading about how terrible 11 is I was like, oh well who cares.
Now it's suddenly eligible to upgrade and I have to keep dismissing the upgrade.
It's funny now that I'm working on the business with the redhead I'm starting to realize why she didn't think we were a good match.
She's really analytical and critical. All about lists, notes, meeting agendas and trying to get everything sorted and structured before moving forward as well as making sure everything is legally sound in terms of EU regulations. I'm much more about general vibes and just building cool things based on concepts, visions and ideas because most plans are outdated by the time you've implemented them. Plus with the way things are going, the EU will barely be able to enforce any of their regulations and it might not survive the year
I thought she had the impression that I wasn't bold enough but it's the opposite actually, I'm moving too fast and while I like to keep things under control I don't bother with all the details. That is why I enjoy AI so much because it has a high 'fuck around and find out' factor and I keep pushing the boundaries. She sees it as something she has to be a part of because she realizes it's a risk to her current line of work.
We've put her in charge of a few things that require such critical thinking and she appreciates that. Beyond that I don't see anything happening between us anymore.

Update:
I saw people dressed up for a wedding go by awhile later. The gentleman must have been part of the wedding procession. Mystery solved.
I suppose I would want the Red Baron to lead my wedding procession on a motorcycle with a side car too.

do you think children and midgets suffer a disproportionate amount of vision damage simply due to being short and needing to look up all the time, catching stray glances at the sun, or bare light bulbs which are normally shielded from other angles or just plain out of view of standard height people
it has to be a nonzero effect, right
like if you could raise 1000 children in a bare-bulb-free environment and compare them to 1000 normal children, what percentage difference would you find

Wow, these are pretty damn good
Found an old co-worker from the super market job I left 15(?) years ago on Tinder. We used to hang out and dance in the club in my teens and early 20's, had a little crush but no idea what I was doing and clearly in the friendzone but we always had fun at parties and she loved to get me drunk and tease me. Bumped into her someplace 7 or 8 years ago at a boring conference and we catched up a bit. She liked that unlike everyone else she knows from those days that had since become lawyers and other boring people I didn't pretend that we never got shitfaced. Weird thing is, everyone always tried to tame her (especially her last(?) boyfriend) and even now she's posing in front of museum art and you can tell she really doesn't know how to do that.
She is 33 now but her looks have barely changed. No red hair but that rack.
So I obviously send her a message.

It is the official LA County map that contains specific house damage pictures.
My ex wife lives 9 miles from one of these fires. If you know someone in LA this helps to know exactly where the fires are.

tell her that burnout isn't really your thing, that you're more of a forza guy

And... I liked her profile. Oh well maybe she's no longer active anyway.
What pops up now, a chick with a MAGA hat.

Hope the sex is good. Remember this is gacha hard mode, chances that any of them even respond(of the active profiles) are 2% - 5%.
Did upgrade my profile with a key pic of me and a female co-worker at our new years party.
Not having a picture of you and another female being comfortable around you is the biggest red flag because they never want to be the first so to speak.
But she's a shy Nintendo nerd and Genshin cosplayer so she actually feels most comfortable around other nerds.
With that said, despite everything the ladies say and claim and enter in polls in terms of what they find 'attractive' (i.e. reading, astrology etc.), my mid weight lifting pic is still the 2nd favorite according to the algorithm. The one they are right about and underestimated is trimming and shaving. I had some more Switzerland pics where I had slacked off with the shaving and those all bombed.
The order in popularity is now:
1. Bond Villain restaurant pic (I had my doubts but my possibly gay friend really nailed this one, perhaps I should let him take more pics ), 2. Weight lifting, 3. Swiss mountain, 4. Me standing tall in office (but I need to redo this one during the day), 5. Party with co-workers, 6. Reading
The weather turned to shit last week, but hopefully we can hit the bars this weekend.
Hard mode more like impossible mode

Overall I'm actually more positive about the dating pool than when I started.
Not getting many likes that interest me because of all the issues mentioned before but now that everyone is back to the grind I'm seeing far more women I would like to date.
1. Someone as much into restaurants and fancy dinners as me on Hinge (if you know how you can spot the fakers)
2. Super cute shy redhead on Tinder
3. Girl with lots of nerdy interests on Bumble and on top of that humor based on memes and trauma, red hair and pretty good looking overall, I could tell from her attitude that we'd be fire together and leave everyone else traumatized.
Fingers crossed number 3 responds because that's a very rare drop compared to all the travel, sports, lefty types
My trip to Canada is also taking shape. Probably flying there at the end of May. My bro said it's ok to stay at his place, which is a luxury high rise building with a sick view.
As for business, very strong start. I can tell the influence of the MEGA / e/acc mindset is growing. The socialists, liberals and conservatives don't really have the answers us technology evangelists have and folks welcome us with open arms just because we have answers instead of fear mongering and cowardice. Had an interesting conversation with a doctor I was prompting for and she asked me about the environmental impact of AI and all that and I told her Netflix uses more data. She said... you're right but why do they leave that out of the news, why are they only talking about AI that way? My staff is also excited about our new technology push. They want me to buy the Samsung robot as soon as it becomes available.
Folks are waking up and we are showing them the path to a better future.

Finally found a good tool to relieve tendinitis. It’s a 12” long ribbed rubber rod called a theraband flexbar. I imagine this came about in a reversal of the hitachi massager story.

Still grinding the gacha.
Todays best like, a 36 year old photographer that wants her guy to pretty please at least enjoy quality sci-fi just a little.
So I asked her if she would settle for a guy that enjoys hq sci-fi a lot including Dune, Bladerunner, Interstellar... and to complete the list on our date.

This month I've been more out and about than any January during/after COVID though. What surprised me is how much effort it takes to get other people motivated to do shit. I'm apparently not the only one that is/was stuck in a rut. But I've stopped cancelling plans if I'm alone and simply adjust them to different activities.
Now that the weather is getting better one new pond I'm fishing in is the dune. A place where people walk their dogs, take pictures of the wildlife or go jogging. Today a dog ran up to me and I greeted the dog in a "aren't you a good doggy" kind of way and the owner answered. It was apparently a thing she liked to do to shock people.
She had some decent tips on where to find certain animals in the area, considering her dog chased after them all the time.
