I think that's the final straw for me. The Bioware I knew is gone. Words can not express how much the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games have meant to me, and how my heart now goes out to all those let go today. I hope as many land on their feet as possible.

People already hated Andromeda because it felt like Josh Whedon wrote it during the same year he was cancelled. What was so interesting about modern BioWare outside willingness to entertain their most crazy parts of their fanbase.

Have to think the societal decay is only getting started sadly and it's hard not to view this in light of the heavy handed governmental interference/destruction that's going on.

I can't help but keep thinking about Breaking Bad. As it aired, I thought both the airplane collision and the turn to the Neo Nazis at the end of the show's run were the two "weak" things that kind of went beyond my suspension of disbelief. That they were too "cartoonish" and "over the top" as to be a bit too unbelievable for the show's context.

But no, not really. In hindsight, those things that happen in the show make total, perfect sense. Especially when you view Breaking Bad through the lens of it being a larger parable about the collapse of the United States. Not just Walter White is Breaking Bad, everything surrounding us is.

My girlfriend was just recently offered a permanent job in Alberta, Canada. We've been together for 15 months and I feel very confident in our relationship. We're both U.S. citizens and she's getting a work visa with the position. We've decided we're going to move there together. Her position starts in May so thankfully we have some time. I unfortunately will be unable to continue my current job outside of the United States.

I am looking into Canadian jobs and temporary visas but I was curious if anyone on here had any recent experience with Canadian immigration? It would be nice to know what steps I should be prioritizing with two and a half months before we would head that way.

There's plenty of things to figure out like housing but the main thing I want to get sorted is gaining entry and doing the right steps towards Permanent Residency/Citizenship. I do have a passport that is good through 2028. And to those wondering about marriage or a common-law relationship, it's too early for me to consider something like that at this time (and given neither of us have lived in Canada, I'm not sure that would help anyway). Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

The other day I watched a video on Mass Effect 4 out of curiosity if they ever “fixed” it. And the conclusion is they can’t really fix it because it’s the writing that’s rotten. There’s praise for the combat. But when the story and characters are the problem, you’re losing a major appeal of these games. Sounds like Dragon Age 4 was even worse in that regard.

Modern philanthropy for rich folk is just brand growth these days. They do this philanthropy in a very theatrical and public show to get as much attention as they can. It's all very transactional, this type of outreach is a minor expense for them.
