Been playing Kingdom Come since about 4 o'clock yesterday, just had half an hour of explaining away why the report will be with the team next week. I regret nothing. This is why the crusade is bound to fail, good vidya has cosmic magnetic forces all of it's own, no crusade can stop a person from staying up too late to go find their dog in a digital forest.

I know it sounds silly, but I'd love a game that's part of it's clothing customization, allowed you to a patches and flays to you jacket or shirt with the pride flag, progress flag, trans flag, lesbian flag etc etc and have NPC react to it in-game or even stuff like Insomniac's Spidey games where you get the option to high-five some NPCs who are showing their support. I've also said in the past that I also want games that during character customization, allow me to pick my sexuality along with my pronouns which like Veilguard, opens up new dialogue options and lets me tell me men to back off (and for just removes romance options for male characters).

But truly personally just want one, one great Action RPG with a canon lesbian lead (a Trans lesbian lead would be even better) with either a set love interest or the option of 2-4 well written women.

Because doing it in the past caused massive headaches for mods. Because this doesn't come down to some scientific measuring of problematic elements - yes, Cyberpunk had some questionable things within the game itself (e.g. the posters), and combined that with a social media presence that was boosting GG-y rhetoric, but containing it to a single OT was also a call made in response to a messy set of circumstances that unfolded on this forum; yes, Harry Potter is singularly enriching a singularly anti-trans force in this world, and is inherently infused with her bigoted instincts to boot, but again, the decision to ban the IP really came down to a long, long discussion lead by trans members of the site, in which the groundwork was long laid for this forum to stop being a home to the IP.

The need for consistency is so often misplaced, anyway, but that's especially true in this case. What it comes down to is that the various stakeholders aren't calling for a ban in the same way as they did for Cyberpunk and Harry Potter. Mods don't have the same bandwidth for it, the same robust discussions aren't being had, the circumstances aren't the same. There's never been a pretense of banning all games with problematic creators.

Think I'll give this a go, I've been craving some good gay romance in a game for so so long. Fuck his otherwise shitty views anyway though!

Vavra still being an asshole on twitter makes this not as sweet as it could be, but in the end I think the fact that the game features a big gay romance, positive jewish, roma and african representation and seems to piss off the worst part of the internet makes this a real feel good story.

I mean the first game was the poster child of the anti woke game, the reverse go woke go broke stereotype. And now that crowd is pissed at it and we get maybe the best male gay romance in AAA game ever. And nazis have to help Jewish people in a medieval settings. What a time to be alive.

The fact that the game has so many progressive aspects to it - especially for a video game of all things - shows how many people worked on this game who don't agree with Vavras views at all. To me, punishing them for this because of their boss just seems a little unfair.

Vavra's views suck ass, but he's not the sole developer. There are plenty of progressive people that worked on the game, thus the addition of POCs and LGBT romance options.

It doesn't excuse Vavra, but let's not pretend that he's the only person working on the game.
