Somehow that was a topic of conversation last week, in real life. Questioning if Adolf was basically copying Charlie Chaplin. The same way guys buy the jacket from Drive. It’s known he was a fan of Chaplin. Who’s to say it wasn’t a literally me instance?

Actually seems like that'd be one of the easiest prompts for it to do. The entire thing is based on the probabilities of what words appear after one another is it not?

the most charitable interpretation of "AI can only use what it has read but can't make whole new sentences" is that even when making a supposedly new sentence, if you trace its decision tree back to the origin it plucked the word "unicorns" from some ancient forum post and got "serenaded" from a 19th century poem and just eventually pieced them together, every word was STOLEN and not original in some sense
(ignoring that everyone learned all words from SOME originating literary source in a not dissimilar manner)

That seems like critiquing these language models for modeling language.
But considering where these kinds of critiques come from, it's about par for the course.
