The person in that tweet got exactly what they wanted. As they highlighted, they'd rather accept Trump as president by not voting for Harris than sacrificing their principles, even if that meant screwing over a huge proportion of other demographics (both within their country and outside of it).

As far as I'm concerned that sort of person is far worse than just an apathetic non-voter. They knew how much worse Trump would be, the damage and death it would cause, and how it would encourage a descent into fascism, and they made a conscious decision that that was an acceptable consequence to them.

I used to have no empathy at all for people who chose to not vote instead of voting for the democrats. Then I started thinking about if the situation applied to me, as a Swede who can choose tons of different parties without it ever "giving a vote" to the opposition. If I were told I had to vote for the moderates or any of the centrist parties to stop the nationalist party from winning, instead of voting for the leftist party, I just wouldn't be able to do it.

I understand that tensions and emotions are running high, but voting for the lesser evil just isn't something I can tell someone to do.

And I just cancelled all my TV subs but YT TV and Max, after cancelling like five others last year already.
