I don't think too highly of most Trump voters from an intellectual standpoint. My in-person reaction to some of these town halls and exit interviews has been one of "Holy shit, you can't even give me a cogent political argument to justify your vote for Trump!"

But the fact of the matter is that buried within the ignorance, insecurities, and bigotries of a lot of these people is actually an allyship you could tap into if you all stopped long enough to stop calling them stupid to realize that.

What we need to actually organize and educate the masses and forge some sense of unity against capitalism and its protectors. But that's not going to happen because you all believe the masses are not worth your time.

And again, you keep being flabbergasted that you're losing to rapey fascists.

I recently got an M4 iPad Pro a few months ago for work and school but I've been amazed at the quality of the screen especially. The tandem OLEDs get very bright even in broad daylight especially with the nano texture screen like the new Macs can have. This textured screen erases glare like I've never seen before. This makes it an easy choice for on-the-go gaming for me because with Moonlight, I can slip this in my satchel or backpack and then cloud stream my gaming desktop at home through my phones mobile hotspot. This makes it a tablet that controls my home desktop and retro library on the go, plus with the nano texture screen and bright OLED, that makes it the premium game experience as far as screens in daylight go. The only downside is no built in controls, so I just carry this little 8bitdo controller with me to play whatever I need. I just wanted to share my use case for my iPad M4. Anyone else have one and use it for cloud/game streaming and can vouch for how good this screen is? It means I can moonlight and enjoy 4K HDR and have really good quality and low latency.

What do you cloud game with? Steam Deck OLED is also a great choice that I use sometimes.

You would have to pull up specific arguments and quotes so I could review the context of what I've said in the past regarding education of the masses. It's possible (and hopeful) I have learned, grown, and shifted on issues from seven years ago when the forum first opened, but just as well you'll also still see me in the current threads about men's issues letting them know that women are not primarily responsible for fixing men and that blaming them for negative outcomes under a patriarchal lens is bullshit.

It doesn't matter that I'm Black and non-binary, and thus I'm entertaining the conversation at a disadvantage.

I can internally pull my hair out when they say some dumb shit, but in the moment if I'm trying to get someone to see the flaws of capitalism, I need to respectfully and without judgement walk them down the road by both acknowledging their pain from capitalism as real, but then redirecting it at the right target. And most times I'm relatively successful in teaching someone about economics, or queer issues, or about Africa, or whatever it is we're talking about. If I can get someone to go "Yeah, I see your point," even if I haven't changed their entire political worldview, I've still won.

I am largely speaking in a manner regarding the act of politicking, however I don't mean any of this to only apply to a formal campaign. I am chastising this forum because most of you are refusing to follow the lessons of the civil rights leaders you supposedly champion and hold in high regard, which is that you need to fucking organize. To organize, you need to stop thinking you are so intellectually above your neighbors that they aren't even worthy to be spoken to. You need to start forging bonds and lifelines with your community so that you all can rely on each other when shit hits the fan. You need to realize where there are moments of clarity and commonality that you can pounce and capitalize on.

This doesn't mean bigots have no work to do. It's not about coddling. Every adult has a responsibility to fucking grow and learn. And some who cannot need to be kicked out. Smarter and more hardworking political leaders than I'll ever be have basically said some section of the population is always going to be your enemy due to political and economic interests. Have your lines in the sand, if only for the sake of political cohesion of the movement and to guard against co-opting. But you'll never know who is truly a Nazi and who is just some disaffected moron who can't parse propaganda as easily as you can if you don't talk. This isn't how you build coalitions. It's how you lose an election to a total trifecta.

Ultimately, the times we have come closest to actually forking new and progressive pathways in this trash country is when white people and Black folks literally realized they were on the same side and were ready to fucking burn some shit down. It happened with the Irish indentured servants and African slaves. It happened with the labor and land movements. It can happen again.

But not if you think you're too good for the work.

Oregon is controlled by the extreme far left, even as a liberal it's absolutely insanity, at one point two years they wanted to put a measure up to vote that stated homeless could take home owners to court for kicking them off the homeowners land! Like seriously you would not have been able to tell homeless to not live in your front yard! They decriminalized all drugs, with no thought what so ever to putting into place more rehab facilities, or anything, just pretty much said feel free to do any drugs you want in plain site, it's all good! We had people sitting on the steps of the court house smoking fentanyl and shooting heroin! Crime, homeless and drug addiction went through the roof within a year, and every year after until we just finally voted to re-criminalize drugs this last year, every liberal I have spoken to agrees we let our government of the state go way to far. Look back at the mid to late 90s Portland was the second fastest growing city in the country, now after our elected extreme left government has run it into the ground it's in the top five city's people want to move from. Going as far to one side or another on the political spectrum has never been a good thing in human history.

It doesn't matter that I'm Black and non-binary, and thus I'm entertaining the conversation at a disadvantage.

I can internally pull my hair out when they say some dumb shit, but in the moment if I'm trying to get someone to see the flaws of capitalism, I need to respectfully and without judgement walk them down the road by both acknowledging their pain from capitalism as real, but then redirecting it at the right target. And most times I'm relatively successful in teaching someone about economics, or queer issues, or about Africa, or whatever it is we're talking about. If I can get someone to go "Yeah, I see your point," even if I haven't changed their entire political worldview, I've still won.

I am largely speaking in a manner regarding the act of politicking, however I don't mean any of this to only apply to a formal campaign. I am chastising this forum because most of you are refusing to follow the lessons of the civil rights leaders you supposedly champion and hold in high regard, which is that you need to fucking organize. To organize, you need to stop thinking you are so intellectually above your neighbors that they aren't even worthy to be spoken to. You need to start forging bonds and lifelines with your community so that you all can rely on each other when shit hits the fan. You need to realize where there are moments of clarity and commonality that you can pounce and capitalize on.

This doesn't mean bigots have no work to do. It's not about coddling. Every adult has a responsibility to fucking grow and learn. And some who cannot need to be kicked out. Smarter and more hardworking political leaders than I'll ever be have basically said some section of the population is always going to be your enemy due to political and economic interests. Have your lines in the sand, if only for the sake of political cohesion of the movement and to guard against co-opting. But you'll never know who is truly a Nazi and who is just some disaffected moron who can't parse propaganda as easily as you can if you don't talk. This isn't how you build coalitions. It's how you lose an election to a total trifecta.

Ultimately, the times we have come closest to actually forking new and progressive pathways in this trash country is when white people and Black folks literally realized they were on the same side and were ready to fucking burn some shit down. It happened with the Irish indentured servants and African slaves. It happened with the labor and land movements. It can happen again.

But not if you think you're too good for the work.
