Now if you’re the first trans person elected to congress, you have a few options:
1 - Do the job you were elected to do. Act like a normal person and show the country that trans people aren’t scary and are just people like everyone else. Vote on the things that matter to the people elected you and compromise/play politics on a variety of things.
2 - Immediately freak the fuck out about a niche issue that no one actually cares about.
Spoiler: (click to show)(click to hide) 3 - Post hog

It’s funny cuz McBride isn’t even qualified to be an ally! She IS part of the oppressed group! The left is burning the witch so fast that Mike Johnson hasn’t even had a chance to look for his flint and tinder.
I also am amazed by the triggering caused by “I’m here to represent all delaware”…this is an absolutely classic, typical, and unremarkable statement frequently made by “firsts” in government going back forever. Imagine the outcry if a minority rep said “yeah, I’m here in a federal office to advocate exclusively for the minority of which I am a part, and fuck the rest”.

She literally is there to represent her constituents, all of them, including the chuds. That's the entire idea.
What's the alternative? Rounding your enemies up in camps, based on their identity?

Their unironic advice for McBride is to burn her political capital and burn her career on an unwinnable fight to gain access to women's bathrooms. These people learned nothing from the election will just continue taking GOP wedge issue bait. Also, how does it look that the first trans congresswoman's first act is to fight to get access to women's bathrooms? That'd confirm every negative stereotype about trans people in the public's mind.
