Guys.  I've been working with a female artist for a few years on composing the perfect hip hop song that encapsulates what Nepenthe means to me and how much her life has left an indelible mark on mine.  We've spent, literally, 3 painstaking years trying to craft this thing.  Sweat, blood, and many, many tears went into this...not to mention thousands of dollars *big sensible chuckle* so i'd appreciate it if you could listen to her heart.  She really puts everything into her music.

In general and in narrow circumstances, I’m inclined to agree with the bleeding hearts in the thread, but we’ve all seen how this particular conversation spools out: its just a name, its just a pronoun, why not do it when they’re not around, actually don’t use “they” either, also its just a bathroom, its just a sports match, its just a scientific and medical definitional understanding of reality etc.

I’ve never had this issue with accommodating random crust punks who want to be called Filth Wilder…but that’s because the conversation is limited to *just* the name, and if he finds out I still call him Chris in private, no one gives a shit.
