In early December, I ordered something online and it still hadn't arrived after two weeks. I was worried it wouldn't since I hadn't put in the full zip code. And then soon after that, I get a text claiming to be from USPS and saying that the package was being held because of an incomplete zip code. And since it was a gift and I wanted it to get here in time, I rushed to the link they gave, updated the info, and gave my card info for a "service charge".

A week later, the package got here so I assumed it was all legit. But then on Christmas Eve, I get a message warning about possible fraud from a $100 purchase at Target. I hadn't ordered anything from there, so immediately knew something was up. And after going through my texts, I noticed one from back in October from a different number trying the same scam.

Going to the bank tomorrow to get things figured out. Card is frozen for now and the purchase didn't go through, so there's that at least.

I've always been good at seeing stuff like this, but man that was terrible timing. Reminder to always be on the lookout for these scams.
