You can't just go like… "see? We found a trans Korean actress, there's no excuse!". Like that's not how casting works. What if she was doing another project or not good enough or declined or any number of other reasons? The director said they tried to find one but that there's "close to none openly trans actresses in Korea" and I'm inclined to believe him due to the anti-LGBT mess there. Ultimately, I thought he did the character justice, she ended up being the MVP of the season.
