Because it's saying your race has something to do with your capabilities...

It's like saying "I'm surprised you could do that, ya know, being Chinese I expected you to do worse."

I feel the one bringing race into it is you. The OP is clearly not talking about this subject in regard to race but instead overall culture. You have your own view on this but to me I don't think the OP is some racist, I just think he was approaching the subject how I mentioned.
It's obvious that we're coming at this from two different perspectives and neither are budging so I won't argue with you.
