That Scrooge comic book series is pretty great actually. I have those stashed somewhere as well. Loved those as a kid.

the story of carl barks is pretty great

a down-to-earth thoughtful man who lived in the middle of nowhere and submitted all these comics by mail...never knowing the wide appeal, never really getting much feedback, just quietly crafting this amazing world by himself

disney may have kept him in the dark so they wouldn't have to pay him more, but it worked in the comics' favor, there was nothing to impede his creativity

a true auteur who finally got the recognition he deserved when people finally tracked him down toward the end of his life

That’s why is so funny how clueless is that book about “How to read Donald Duck”.
