Left-leaning people like you and I no longer using Facebook doesn't change the fact that the site will continue to be used by millions and millions of people, many of whom will be completely ignorant to news like this. They have no idea what is going on behind the scenes at Meta. Most people don't pay enough attention where they'll even see a headline like this. They just use Facebook the way the app is supposed to be used: interacting with friends, photos, etc.
The problem is that those people are the ones who are going to be shown constant false information and propaganda.
"As for me, I am never shown false information and propaganda. Even if I were, I am factually immune to suggestion and influence."
And man, they have summarily executed the Nazi Bar idiom, it seems. "It'll only be a nazi bar if every non-nazi leaves, and besides I love kicking back with a cold one!'
