I saw Blue Velvet in the cinema as part of a double bill with Betty Blue. Betty was on first and the place was packed out. Then Blue Velvet came on. It got to “that” bit and I heard noise behind me. So I looked back and people were leaving in droves. By the time it ended the place was almost empty, but I fucking guarantee every single one of those people who stormed out will be singing it’s praises today.
