I don't know why all that crap after the ? suddenly broke these, I edited a bunch of yours from the last page in random thread because of this. I tried changing the regex to just pass it through like before but it won't for some reason. I will have to tinker with it more. I couldn't figure out how to get it to truncate automatically at the ? and only send the stuff before it. If somebody understands regex I can post the line in the community feedback thread and maybe you can tell me what to do.

I like these conspiracy theories where the person makes clear that they think everything was some kind of socialist utopia before like say 2011.

It's usually from the same kind of person who has that response ResetERA.com did when that dude suggested they copy what civil rights protesters did in the 1950-60's and everyone yelled "BECAUSE THE 1950'S WERE SO GREAT FOR QUEER AND BLACK PEOPLE!!!"

Like, oh, so you're imagining this period of blissful life that just happens to align perfectly with the childhood you desperately want to return to? And all your demands just happen to want to create an existence like your childhood where you have no responsibility but everyone else has to take care of you?

I'm also struck by how often these types of people, like Nepenthe, create totalizing theories based around extrapolating from one central wrong idea. Like this guy thinks there was a perfect blissful utopia until Citizens United declared corporations people, gave them free speech and they could now lobby politicians. Except corporations being people is centuries old common law dating back to the UK, it's the only way they can be punished by the law in the first place. Corporations always had free speech in the United States until the case called Citizens United began when the state explicitly argued it could ban books if they were about politicians. Then there's the belief that politicians weren't lobbied or outright bribed before Citizens United when this wasn't even illegal in the United States until post-Watergate and it was (and is) only illegal to give directly to the politicians campaigns or personally, you can give endless amounts to the parties or the politicians family members.

You don't even need to know these details because you can spot their stupidity within the structure of the theories themselves. They're always the same. There was this utopia and man lived in utter harmony, then he fell from ONE WEIRD TRICK the devil pulled and now all our problems trace back to the simple thing that we could just change and bring about utopia again. Don't you see, it's all so simple, we just need the right people in power, people who can see through the veil into the supernatural forces of evil and what they used to come into our realm and wreak havoc on our destined bliss. You can trust me, I see the entire agenda so I can protect you and the dignified live you deserve. Just get out there and kill those thousand people holding us eight billion down by manipulating us with the algorithms into expelling CO2 emissions or whatever the fuck it is that causes capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy. (Bonus points for this person also being trans and therefore operating from the assumption that there's just one thing they needed to change about themselves to get people to worship them as they deserve.)
