"It's ok officer, getting beaten by my ex-husband was the best thing that ever happened to me. It showed me that I had to leave him and it made me independent and I really enjoy my life now, even though I have to look over my shoulder constantly because I can't never truly be sure that he's not going to hunt me down and kill me."
