Using this to talk about a Japanese TV show nobody else has watched. It’s called Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. Basically “old man loves cute things.” Premise is what the title suggests. A normal guy in his 40s is into cute dolls, animals, and so on. But he’s embarrassed by it and treats it as a secret identity like he’s Batman. He’s accidentally exposed when buying a capsule machine toy by another older guy with similar hobbies. Long story short, he finds friends to share his hobbies and interests, but it stresses the importance of not fucking up your entire life over it. You can be true to yourself and still be a functioning member of society.

There are strange number of shows with that exact premise. There’s even one about a girl building Gundam models called Ryosangata Riko.
