Has anyone noticed this, especially long-time office workers?

For example, there are often lulls in office work. You're in between projects, having downtime, but people can't leave early.

It's a vestigial practice from the 40-hour compromise made for factory work, not office work.

Do you think we will figure this out in the office work world? Remove the busy work, fake activity, and firefighting.
