This isn't just an Era bubble belief.

It's widespread among Leftists I know that leftist beliefs and policy are secretly popular with voters and parties just need to move left to win elections.

Conservatives might be overwhelmingly ignorant, but leftists are just plain fucking stupid...

Republicans are now the "Common Sense Party". 

Pretty fucking hilarious. Republicans were always seen as the "crazy yanks" over here (and in the rest of the world) and now they're the (relatively) normal ones (even though they're still fucking crazy yanks)!
