so um

you still have the right to vote, the right to a fair trial, the right to government services, the right to public education, and the right to use public facilities

to say "they took away our civil rights" is blatantly disingenuous, implying that you lost those basic rights above, rather than that you are now just slightly less enshrined than before

do they realize that only absolute idiot employers, landlords and businesses would've outright stated they were discriminating against you because you were trans, but instead found other bullshit reasons to avoid you if they really wanted to? this changes essentially nothing

do they realize that this also means that employers, landlords and businesses can now also discriminate against cis people, and say we only hire trans people here?

I wonder if the state realized on some level the absolute liability of hiring a trans person and the strife and toxicity it will bring to the office environment as everyone is suddenly walking on eggshells not to offend them, and how businesses need to be able to have the right to refuse stepping into that minefield
