remember when you could open a place of business and people just went there, used spaces appropriate to themselves without even needing to be asked, and then they left when they were done

Relatedly unrelated about gendered services. 

Something I always find amusing around here is restaurants where there’s an all you can eat option, like a Brazilian steakhouse, will deduct the equivalent of $10 for women. Or charge men $10 more, depending on your views on misandry. If you bring it up to anybody, the response is always blunt “Makes sense. Men eat more.”
