Doesn't America have benefits for people like Melody to use?

He just refuses to work, so yes and no. He lives at home with his parents, it's likely they claim him as a dependent. He doesn't seem to have any diagnosed disabilities. He has multiple court cases attempting to collect debts from non-payment including rent and credit cards. He refuses to just do the paperwork to change his name or anything to his "true" one so it's unlikely he'd bother to try and get any of the welfare he actually could attempt to get.

That's what I was afraid of. This person makes a mockery of people who suffer from real problems
