I have travelled cross-country via train, just three or four days out of surgery for removal of my appendix.

So two months premature. And having your appendix out is an outpatient procedure most of the time. Makes me skeptical about the rest of those stories.

Also... it's a non-sequitur because the guy was saying most people probably treat the homeless and drug addicts poorly. What does any of this have to do with the person having empathy?
