[JK Rowling]'s been the largest influence around it politically and socially, and has donated significant amounts financially. Including at least £70,000 toward the case that resulted in our loss of rights. She has been instrumental in sanitising anti-trans rhetoric and building a platform of plausible deniability until she had enough support and political capital to drop the pretence. She is held up by every major media outlet in the country.

Put simply, she's seen and treated as the figurehead of the Gender Critical movement in this country. Were it not for her we would still have our civil rights right now, of that I have no doubt. She's a billionaire who's used her fame, money and influence to strip rights from a minority. She's our Elon Musk.

They keep talking about Rowling like she's bankrolling the whole operation. Meanwhile, the figure they repeatedly cite is this £70k. Isn't Rowling a mega-zillionaire? 70k--especially for a national case like this--seems like pocket change.

I mean, the decision was unanimous. That's 12 justices (apparently...I just googled it lol). They really need to believe that if one particular person is silenced, this whole trend reverses.
