Work for a non profit and people talked happily about throwing hp bday parties for their toddlers so I tried to ask if I could send an educational email on what Rowling is doing and let people decide from there whether to continue supporting the series. Hr approved a heavily edited letter sent via email that no one responded to and people kept talking about Harry Potter.

Also got told I would be ruining "people's happiness"

I'm sorry, these are not serious human beings.  They might as well go to universal studios, stand outside and pass around pamphlets talking about JKR looool.

I was told by my work's hr I might "kill people's happiness" just for wanting to educate staff on Rowling so they could determine for themselves if they wanted to fund her any more or not.

I had to approach the topic fairly so all I wanted was to educate and let people decide for themselves or not and I got shut down and only allowed to use a very edited and sanitized email to just my office.

I also got asked "what if trans people love HP still??? You wanna ruin their happiness?"
