I normally don't watch prison movies because they don't come close to what it's like and I'll pick it apart until everyone tells me to shut up.
I saw it was directed by Steve Buscemi and starring Willem Dafoe, so I gave it a shot. After watching it I had to look up the writer. Sure enough it was written by ex-con and actor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bunker
