I love how one of the worst ESPN writers ever somehow got a writing career as some kind of political pundit despite understanding that topic even less.
She's certainly right that black and Asian organizations supported each other at one point in history. But it's 2023 and Asian people don't owe us anything, nor do we owe them anything. Beyond basic level decency. And I'm not sure "haha you're carrying water for white people" resonates as you struggle to pay your rent as a wack journalist, while said Asians climb the socioeconomic ladder. Like I said earlier this entire argument is based on white guilt applying to Asians. Most of them don't feel bad at all about this. And if you want an example of where this is truly heading, look at California. Dems keep harping on this Asian guy from the SC case being a patsy but Asian Americans have been fighting this fight for over a decade in California. This isn't some white supremist plot, it's a battle over resources.
Hill and others don't want to contemplate this because they view black political power as something you use to bolster other groups or a specific political party, while never asking for anything in return besides "do no harm." The idea of Asian Americans strong arming school boards, university boards, electing Asian candidates who deliver on what they say, etc scares them because the minute that happens for black people all that "hot sauce in the purse" pandering becomes obsolete. Which means the influencers become obsolete.
(And no, this is not a "...which is why we should vote for republicans" argument, at all)
