Conviction is a case of an entry incongruent with series expectations. It eased up going into 3/Chaos Theory and Double Agent, but those older Splinter Cells were all stealth and going loud is the poor choice. The flow of Conviction expected you to get spotted and play loud. Takedowns refilled your auto kills. Play it like John Wick rather than a stealth game, it’s pretty fun.
Follow up, Blacklist, managed to hit a sweet spot of stealth and action. Great game. Don’t think it sold well.
