Beginning to feel like I've had the available fun in Fortnite. It's been a great run, esp. when my peeps were playing, but two of the last three Seasons in this Chapter have featured meta that I don't like.
There was a whole season of Sniper meta where I was constantly moving in a zig-zag from cover-to-cover even when there were no confirmed signs of other players. Pretty much every time I moved in a straight line across cover, someone would one-shot me from a surveilling high spot.
The current Season is all about the Marvel Hero Gear they've made available. Every final 5 I've been in so far, the loadout is identical: jetpack or Iron Man flight kit for hovering, auto-turret for pointing out the enemy location and free damage, Captain America shield (nerfed now) to block damage or auto-track toward opponents.
The Reload mode is basically a return to OG, non-gimmick Battle Royale, and appears to be gaining momentum. But as they divide their user base across two BR modes, Reload, Racing, Lego, and Festival, the matchmaking pool for each grows smaller, and the skill differences in any one mode become more pronounced.
