Happy to be wrong of course. I'd love to experience a Dukakis moment in my lifetime.
I think 2 term Presidents will be a thing of the past.
Early 2020 it looked like an easy win for Trump because of the economic boom and how easily he took care of big crises like North Korea and Al Bag Daddy.
But then his bloated campaign operation imploded, George Floyd, COVID happened, he was pressured to give the wrong people the keys to the castle (Fauci, Birx, Pence etc.) and the Democrats seized on that. The message was simple, you can have the same prosperity you have now without all the chaos and drama.
Summer 2023 it looked like an easy win for Biden. They had prevented the predicted "Red Wave" for the 2022 midterms, the Russia/Ukraine war was contained and the economy seemed to rebound but then October 7th happened and everything started to slowly fall apart for the Democrats.
It seems that the voters are changing their minds on what they want much more rapidly these days.
And it's not just something that is happening in the US. The UK went from a landslide historic win for Boris Johnson to a Labour government.
