Personally, I always thought that sex change was a last resort type of thing for gender dysphoria. While we mock the concept of genocide, the basic idea of being a life saving/affirming type of procedure to far gone people is not exactly that objectionable to me, at least in a case by case basis.

The problem is that the trans movement cannot agree with themselves if is a mental health condition or a sexual preference ala LGB, while being loud about it. So we the fun stuff like hormones and sex change surgery for kids.

I feel like the best treatment would be to help people feel comfortable in the body they're born in, to avoid the risk that comes with hormones and surgery. But at the same time, we don't really discourage people from getting boob jobs or nose jobs do we? Where do we draw the line between "gender affirming" surgery and "cosmetic" surgery? Like, what's the difference between a woman getting a boob job and a man getting a boob job if it makes them feel better about themselves? Should we give women that want new boobs counseling to help them accept their old boobs instead?
