I'll take a risk here by self-identifying as mostly a libtard.

It's just insane to me that stuff like the image above sprung from something that--IMO--was broadly palatable and not entirely unreasonable.

rewind 20 years and the conversation was about biases you pick up naturally from being part of any normal community: you don't eat raw fish much in rural Kentucky, so when you travel abroad and see it being done regularly and casually, you're naturally like "holy fuck, what are these DEMONS eating?!"

So the rule of thumb was every time you felt that initial kick of WTF, check yourself. That logic can be carried across all of our instinctual judgments, beyond race and ethnicity, and anyone of any background can obviously benefit from taking a Snickers moment in all kinds of situation. Universal, non-judgmental concept, easy to talk about and apply in your own life.

So naturally the far left ran with that and stretched it unrecognizably into something that is a hair's breadth away from phrenology.

SCIENCE!

It was and is totally unreasonable.

In most cases opportunities are equal.
There is lets say a 5% - 10% minority that inherits millions from their parents or becomes a famous celebrity because of their talent in sports, stonks, OnlyFans or music that is 'privileged'.
The rest of the population in the 'free world' basically operates on a level playing field. If you want to get ahead you basically have to put in the work. Simple as.

Most of the so-called 'opressed' don't want to put in the work. Look at ResetEra, in every thread the trans folx will remind you that it is not their job to educate you about their feelings.
They don't want to actually explain their situation because they know that it is complete and total bullshit 99% of the time.

Sure even if you put in the work, you can still get fired or fail but you gained experience and you will have a better starting point for whatever else you want to do next.

If you just hide behind 'yt peepo', 'oppression', 'transphobia' or 'capitalism' you can simply blame everything and everyone without having to do introspection about why you weren't hired for a job, why all your co-workers dislike you or why your copyright infringing gay furry porn has no demand.

I would never hire a member from ResetEra, not because of their race or gender but simply because they can't deal with mild criticism, they constantly try to backstab other members of their community and they can't be trusted. The crying about being so tired of everything all the time is also not a trait any employer or client is looking for. Their 'perspective' simply adds nothing of value and unlike what they believe most businesses would've loved a better outcome where DEI had improved their profits, production, quality or even just the staff turn-over.

MrBeast hires investigators over co-host grooming claims
Quote:MrBeast says he's hired investigators after his former co-host was accused of grooming a teenager. Ava Kris Tyson was accused by other YouTubers of sending inappropriate messages to the minor when she was 20. The 28-year-old, who'd worked on MrBeast's channel since 2012, strenuously denied grooming but said the pair had "mutually agreed" she should quit.

In a follow-up statement, MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, said he was "disgusted" by the "serious allegations of Ava Tyson's behaviour online".

Ava has apologised for "past behaviour" which was "not acceptable".

I mean... there is a very solid social and business rationale underlying it, which is that people tend to group with similar people subconsciously, so someone who - for whatever reason - does not easily fit in with the hiring group has less of a chance to be hired than someone who is more obviously a part of the existing group. If all hiring was done 'double blind', this would be less of an issue, but HR people aren't going to make their own jobs redundant by having like, an online talent test or whatever, and want to do interviews to find 'a good fit' for the 'company culture'.
And sometimes to justify their own jobs write long memos about what they think the 'company culture' actually is and invent procedures to enforce it.

The downside to this is groupthink, and there have been a lot of studies that deliberately breaking groupthink improves the survivability of the group, especially in a business environment - sometimes you need an 'outsider' perspective to tell the emperor he's not wearing any clothes.

Eras problem is literally that they don't want a diversity of perspective, so constantly make retarded decisions because they only hire moderators who are already balls deep in the koolaid.

A lot of companies welcome the outsider perspective, that's why they seek out contractors, partners and suppliers.

But you look for people who
A) share the same interests
B) are at the same level
C) are at a higher level
D) show a lot of potential or have an interesting new perspective

You don't do what Microsoft HR does, hire someone who hates guns to be the producer on HALO or just hire them because they're in a wheelchair.
That's the insanity we've arrived at and it basically brings down well functioning teams.

I've seen it happen a lot around me. Just this week I got a call from one of our clients.
When he started out it was just him and 2 others, everything was smooth sailing and he had a lot of fun building the company.

After they took over another company and expanded to 30 - 40 employees, he's now tied to someone in charge of branding, someone in charge of marketing, someone in charge of sales etc. .  Just because that's how you are "supposed" to do things. We were doing a project kind of under the radar to prevent these people from fucking it up and his boss called me when he was on holiday that it had to be put on hold because people felt uncomfortable being left out of the loop. When he returned he was (obviously) livid and quit.

As their results get worse and worse, these people are just not focused on the bottom line at all.
In 12 months they burned like 60% - 70% of the value of the company with nothing to show for it.
All they care about is 'values' and circle back to get everyones perspective.
Popular

Now that he is gone the people left are the incompetent nincompoops that select the worst suppliers and vendors because they see a pretty powerpoint or a LinkedIn post.  lol

The boss obviously knows this, but he doesn't want to be the guy on LinkedIn that fired 50% of his useless employees. So they'll just circle the drain to bankruptcy.
