The thing with Syria is that quite a few Syrians returned to their country after ISIS was defeated. Others had relatives that they were in touch with so they know what the world outside is like. Considering the number of refugees (~6 million) and Syrias population (~20 - 25 million) it is almost impossible to not know someone who fled.

Plus in places like Syria and Iran a much larger share of the population is relatively young(20 - 40) and more interested in the future rather than the past struggles of their parents/grandparents against Iraq, Israel etc. . In Iran the demographics are even more lopsided, which is why ultimately the regime will fall as the old geezers are dying. They can't mobilize an army to fight in Lebanon or Syria because those they recruit would likely turn against them.

And while young Iranians might not like all elements of western culture, they don't see any benefit in yelling death to America every day.

Now that it has fallen, evidence shows that Assads regime was truely more brutal and retarded than the west realized.

Like I said before, if Syria becomes like Turkey it would not be perfect but quite an improvement compared to what it was.

Erdogan now brokering peace deals, sure why not Trumps

Quote:Russian "Z-blogger" Anastasia Kashevarova writes that Putin saved his friend Assad but effectively abandoned his military, which is trapped and could now become a bargaining chip in the negotiations.

In her Telegram channel she wrote the following:

"Bashar al-Assad is in Moscow, and our military is stuck and blocked in Syria, Libya, Africa. Our bases have been completely blocked, no one is allowed in or out, all transportation routes have been cut off for now.

Khmeimim is surrounded by fighters (Russian Foreign Ministry calls it the opposition) – fighters are at checkpoints, and on duty inside the base. There are periodic attempts at provocations, shelling at some bases.

Tartus is abandoned, ships with military personnel are in the coastal zone.

The preliminary agreement on the stay of our contingent is 75 days. After that, withdrawal.

There are instructors, consultants, the "African Corps", the Ministry of Defense and the Special Operations Forces at the Russian military bases. Our people are holding on bravely, all are ready, if anything happens.

Negotiations on Syria are now underway between Russia, Turkey, Iran and others. The issue of Russia's military bases in Syria is open, if there was already a guarantee, then no one would shell them and our people could move freely. Then our stranded military could fly out of Khmeimim. And now the question of how to get them out of there by sea is being considered.

If we leave Syria, then the point of the Defense Ministry's African Corps is destroyed? By losing Syria, including as a transportation hub, we lose access to Africa. Russia's withdrawal from Syria will give Turkey an opportunity to become a player in the European energy market. Building a pipeline to Europe. Russian bases can be used as a way to induce Russia to make peace on terms acceptable to Ukraine and the US.

Many on the sidelines say that Syria is a trade-off between powers. Perhaps it is, but without Russia. Because the benefits for Russia are not visible, and how can one play barter and agreements with those who have never fulfilled international treaties and obligations. They spit on all agreements, including the Minsk agreements."

All going according to plan.

Believe it or not but the retarded Russians think a deal has been made to trade Syria for Ukraine and that's why the rebels were "allowed" to win.  lol

Quote:Russians in Telegram channels write about "the outcomes of the war" for Russia:

"Outcomes of the war:
1. Destroyed Donbas
2. Russian troops remain stuck on the Ukrainian border villages wiped off the face of the earth.
3. The Black Sea Fleet is destroyed
4. Part of the Kursk region is occupied.
5. The economy of the country is at the level of Zimbabwe
6. Russian troops are kicked out of Karabakh and Syria
7. The international reputation and image of the country and the Russian army are dragged in the mud
8. Losses of the army are counted in hundreds of thousands
9. Russia is filled with migrants from Asia
10. Sh*t is f*cked up in general."

"Trump said Russia is weak and they need to wear us down"

Crazy story, when CNN visits a prison with some rebels they find a prisoner who had been hiding since the regime fell.

It's also pretty wild to just see all the shady business the Assad regime was involved in.
A criminal enterprise disguised as a state.

What strikes me about the video is that this guy has been jailed for just 3 months and is already in this state of desperation.

Just a truely awful regime.
