But the things I've done over my life to make things marginally better is to work on things that I have control over, and not wallow in the "everything" happening around us. I can't snap my fingers and make the world a better place, but I can do smaller things to improve things for myself and others around me so that's what I've done as far as I can.

Just be realistic with what you can and can't handle, don't keep pushing yourself past what you can over and over and over again because that way you'll just burn out and crash.

Actually, I realized this isn't remotely circular logic at all if you understand what sex actually is and what its biological purpose is.  
They hate the science so much they essentially want to eliminate biology as real and demand that it must be defined from nothing. As if the entire reason we exist in the first place has no role at all in how it's defined.
It's some kind of ancient humans must not be animals religious shit. 

It's completely unidirectional, not circular.  Chromosomal sex is established at fertilization and initiates a sex differentiation path in development.  The developmental pathways organize the body toward producing either male gametes or female gametes.   This organization path occurs whether or not an individual actually produces gametes - which is why you dont just say a guy who clearly has undergone the male development path is not a guy if he can't produce sperm (and same for women who are barren), and they know this.  Everyone knows this.  The logic goes completely in one direction.

this is factually incorrect, some people are born with non-binary gametes, others buy gamete supplements from their local walgreens and nosh them all day long, they taste kind of like dried banana chips, ever had those? chud?

Can someone explain the joke to someone who never paid attention in biology class?

To me this reads as "woman = person who produces eggs; man = person who produces sperm", assigned at the time of conception. Is there another way to read this? Is this not determined at time of conception yet?

The actual explanation is that there are no sexual organs at conception. It's a common misconception that the default sex is female. Before 6 weeks sex organs are indifferent neither male or female after that time they differentiate. As for the "default" sex it's just poor health literacy. If a male were to be born insensitive to testosterone then physically they would appear female as in they would have breasts and a shortened vagina. But they would not have a uterus or ovaries and could not reproduce. It's a unique genetic defect and is more complex than just "female default".
