Also, I don't know your situation but if one or your parents is Canadian, you can get your canadian citizenship recognized, and whether or not they're from Québec, you have the Canadian citizenship.

My dad's family line literally traces back to one of the original founders of Quebec. My family hasn't lived there for a couple generations, though, so it's probably harder than it would've been to claim Italian citizenship through my great-grandmother, who actually came here from Italy as a two-year-old.

Nepenthe is so developmentally delayed.  She's like a 10th grader that just discovered Noam Chomsky, only she's like in her mid 30s.  Just no ability to consider that she may be wrong about something and never received any pushback or challenge in a setting of higher learning.  This is the second time in history that art school has been a bad choice for someone that is so easily given to fanatical, extremist thinking, after depriving themselves of a well-rounded education demanding critical thinking and broad perspectives.  When teenagers encounter powerful, critical ideas (like Chomsky's critiques of power, media, and foreign policy), sure...it can be genuinely eye-opening. It often feels like discovering a hidden truth or a key that unlocks how the world really works.  That discovery phase is a rush, like you're privy to something secret and powerful but it leads to a tendency towards black-and-white thinking (every single thing is just power dynamics between the oppressor and the oppressed), and baseless strong convictions because the perspective is so new.  They dont look for counterarguments or nuance or limitations because it's uncomfortable to lose that key that felt like it unlocked everything nor is it exciting or fun to challenge your ideas.  And since kids don't have a broader understanding of the world, they don't see the purpose of incorporating other perspectives - it's all them.  She's the main character.  You're an adult and you live in an echo chamber and go ballistic and throw away anything and anyone that produces any intellectual friction.  Grow the fuck up already, Nepenthe.  Tiktok competing against compromised capitalist historians for the true representation of verifiable knowledge...  Jesus Christ.
