You know what? You're probably more correct since I'm really just going off memory from the aftermath of that situation. I remember the controversy elsewhere, and briefly seeing KF posters deny any involvement, while also laughing their asses off. I wasn't aware Byuu threatened suicide as blackmail beforehand, so the extortion angle makes it more muddier.

That being said, I don't think death and suicide should be taken so lightly that people should glorify mocking it, and KF is definitely the type of site that furiously masturbates over people they dislike dying. I guess my point is, if a dude actually kills themselves and cites your cyberbully thread as the root cause, regardless of who the blame falls on, celebrating and making offensive edgelord cracks at a real person's demise is just a sign of a toxic cesspool. I would understand if the dude was a terrible criminal or something, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Not to dogpile BananaBlast, unless that’s your thing of course. I try not to Yuck someone else’s Yum. 

But I started getting disillusioned with GAF towards the split with their death threads. IIRC, especially the John McCain one where I caught my one and only ban on GAF. They became a breeding ground of rancid and vomitous vitriol without a single iota of retrospection or remorse in what was said. And that was Pre-ERA (P.E., Ironically), whereas now it’s far, far worse.

I get you’ll always have some posters acting that way, but when you have the large majority, and moderators condoning it, if not partaking…

Like others my first impression of KF was hearing they host the Christchurch video and manifesto and thought it was a neo-Nazi forum. After Reddit banned all the Gender Critical, and then any non-porn thread exclusively for females, I ended up lurking there because it was the only social media place where the trans issue could be discussed.

They were onto stuff like the Trans Lifeline founders embezzling money that was memory holed until Trans Lifeline noting it in a filing made that impossible.

I don't like the slurs, stereotyping, and genuine bigotry but I now view that as the price for the maximalist free speech allowed there. Even Elon X has shit like Elon going after people pointing out his companies H1B addiction.

Lest you think the site is a complete hellhole take a look at the "Losing people to transgenderism support thread." More caring and empathy in that one thread than Era with all the take-a-carrot organizing and wlw.
