In Imran's own telling he deliberately got a stranger intoxicated to probe him for irrelevant information about a minor Nintendo franchise presumably to gain a "scoop" and as people in that thread note it's not the first time he's said this was a source for something.

This one made me laugh

I don't doubt the accuracy of what Imran heard from this person at the bar, but this "story" by My Nintendo is what is exactly wrong with "gaming journalism". Any real legitimate news outlet would not take a single forum post and turn it into a story. Imran himself is a far better writer and would have multiple sources and more independent verification before turning this into a published story. One off hand account at a bar should not be the bar for publication.

Just wanted to say I got banned and sent in a ban appeal and it actually worked 👀, didn't expect that. Seen a lot of talk in here about how they're useless but that wasn't my experience at least. So if you get clipped and feel like you got a legitimate reason it wasn't on the level then send in an appeal, you never know. Mine was just a couple short paragraphs. Tldr..I don't think they're as unfair as most folks think. Happy new year 🎊

Yeah i can't say anything bad about appeals. I got banned twice a couple of years ago and one time they straight up cleared me and the second time they gave me reduced time.

I got banned a year back or so and didn't even appeal the ban and the staff STILL reversed it. They do pay attention and they're definitely fair.

Yeah, I got banned in the thread about the owners of Circle K, put in the appeal and was unbanned in like 3 hours. Also the most understandable misfire.

Does the admin acknowledge their fuck up banning Embiid? Of course not. They instead encourage him to take a self-imposed temp ban:

If you want to request a temporary ban just send in another ticket! Sometimes breaks from era can be very helpful.

Era learning from the best.
