Like, what consequences are they imagining that Elon has to post pseudonymously to avoid? The guy is an open drug addict who endlessly shares all kinds of shit from his Twitter account and Tesla's shareholders haven't even bothered to try and toss him. He owns the other companies he's CEO of. The government won't dump him because they want to get stuff into space still.

And then there's the question of why some pseudonymous account would have more pull with its comments than those issued from Elon Musk. Some random guy on Twitter posts about Great Replacement Theory and nobody cares. Elon tweets a vague meme that maybe suggests it and everyone talks about it for weeks but can't delete their Twitter accounts because they need them to survive.

As a father of four I often think kids have a very strong concept of real fairness.

They divide things equally and are very good at sharing.

For them life is a lot fairer than for adults, we need to brainwash them to become selfish capitalists.

Because there aren't other systems that allow that, only capitalism does. If people read basic theory they would know that socialism is a system in which all are mandated to labor for the single corporation as the single corporation dictates. And although I myself often make this mistaken point, it is wrong to believe the elite benefit simply because they do the dictating, they too are poorer.

This ties into the quoted post because you know what else children recognize? The size of the pie. If you offer them 100% of one item immediately, or a quarter of a significantly larger supply of the same item at a later point in time, more developed children always choose the latter. Understanding delayed rewards are a significant measure of development in all animals.

To the now modern argument that some people don't have the privilege to wait, this is also an argument for capitalism because it is the only system that produces surplus. Socialist theory is based around the assumption that all that exists at any point in time is not only all that can exist it is all that should exist, surplus is "inefficiency" to be removed from the system because the existence of surplus somewhere can only mean misallocation and thus explotation. This is logic that even a chipmunk would reject because he understands that winter is different from summer.

"Nobody knows why" should be obviously false. For people who are so hung up on perceptions it's funny that they believe this to be materially true in some way. You are remembering the event starkly, and in detail, because it was not non-consequential to you unlike all other events that your mind immediately discards. The 85% are not being asked as the event is occurring, they are asked if they remember it. Your error is in assuming that you couldn't do this all the time if situations made it necessary. Again, animals are instructive, the awareness they give to signs of predators is a place to start.

There's also a biological explanation (again, not surprising that the forum rejects these as well) that's already well known: adrenaline. Athletes "exploit" this "bullet time" every single day. Just go watch one of the many instances of LeBron recalling a play from memory and wonder at why he can access bullet time on the court. Perhaps I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject. But isn't a good portrayal that doesn't mock or belittle the best to hope for? This is pretty far removed from Mickey Rooney in representation. And I don't know the finer points of how trans culture in south east Asia is taken into account either, I'm guessing that's not something global either. Isn't it good enough and just say: "good, this was adequate but it can be better if you would have done [this]"?

Those of you saying it would've been better if they had cast a cis-woman, I'm not sure that would've worked in the context of the story. She wants to get the money so she can get gender affirming surgery, so if the character was played by a cis-woman, audiences would've been unable to understand or relate to her because they would all be thinking "why would you need surgery? you already look like a woman"

I'm not saying trans people need to get gender affirming surgery, but in the context of the story and for people to understand and empathize with the character, I believe that it was a smart thing to not cast a cis-woman.

A trans person would've definitely been preferable, but as the articles about it states, it didn't seem logistically possible this time.

I loved the character and her interactions with the others.

This comes off like a whitelash translash because Embiid got away with genocide in that thread. Three months for that?
