In terms of this, there's only so much we can do on our end. We try our best to be good examples in these threads, though we sometimes fail as humans do, but it needs to be understood that everyone is fighting against the tide of the modern internet. Social media algorithms will actively reward the exact sort of behaviors that you talk about because they're what generates engagement most reliably. Ill-informed hot takes, snarky nonsense, and toxic nonsense are what gets people going viral. This is exactly the sort of thing we've been discussing how to fight internally for literally years now. I remember talking about it way back in like 2019.

They constantly talk about the constant crisis mode that is moderation and how hard it is on them, then turn around and talk about how they don't even do anything. We have countless staff who have said they let others handle the queue, they don't participate in the "internal discussions" that are oh so important, go "On Break", etc. This is not even counting publicly announced things like Nepenthe and Hecht rewriting the rules or B-Dubs rewriting the novel-length "internal rules" hidden from the public.

While these losers like B-Dubs, Nepenthe and Royalan also talk about how people calling them names or criticizing them for choosing to be cops is so horrifying and why they refuse to do anything.

Like it's just offensive how pathetic they are. Especially when they make it so obvious that it's this attempt to deflect responsibility so they can focus on being mean to others themselves.

Anyway, you can't hold me responsible for The Bire or anything I post on here. That's just the algorithms. One should not attempt to flow against the river.

And people can respond to it, and the algorithm will also give other people experience in the type of question or their experience, and then give you similiar thing to that you are interested in, so if you like funny animal video, it will just do that, etc.

The algohthrim is good, so even if you like ACG, or vtuber, or Visual novel(Boy or girl one) it wouldnt be giving you stuff like this

I'm debating whether to call the non-emergency police line because it's really late, and the noise is incredibly irritating. On one hand, I feel like they'd take forever to respond, and by the time they show up, the music might already be off—making it feel like I wasted everyone's time. On the other hand, I feel conflicted about calling the cops at all. I'm pretty young, and it feels odd to call them. And of course ACAB. The neighbors aren't troublesome and I rather not have cops harassing them or anyone more than they need to.
