In the immediate aftermath of 2016, I felt an intense rush to immediately get out there and DO. And I just don't feel that this time. It wasn't a fluke this time. There was no "Russia" this time. And we can criticize the Democrats (and oh, that's gonna happen) and interrogate what we can and NEED to do better. But for how I feel in my spirit, it's not even about that. Because erase all of that, and I still have to contend with that fact that I live in a country where 77 million people voted for that man. That that man's ignorance, and bigotry, and hate only got bigger, and more naked, and more proud. And the response from 77 million people was, "we want THAT."

I have to survive with the knowledge that I live in a country surrounded by people who hate me. But I'll survive.

And I won't stay out of the fight forever. I'm simply not built that way. But hey, too many people wanted this. So I'm seeing about me and mine right now.

Went to a ball the other weekend for the first time in YEARS. It was real hot. And real BLACK,. And Queer as FUCK. And it felt good to just be surrounded.

So that's my vibes for the time being. Hot Black Queer and Surrounded.
