This afternoon, i received a text message from "the dean at my child's school" stating my kid got into a fight in lunch. I paid no attention to it. A few minutes later, I get a different text from a different number saying they're going to jerk me off. Paid no attention to it. I get on a flight and go home. My wife calls me when I get off the flight to say she got a text from a random number stating it's our son, he broke his phone but is texting from his friends number. Turns out, it's one of the numbers that texted me earlier in the day.

After some digging, we find out it's my kids friend from school. My wife is upset and says she's going to email the dean. I tell her to calm down and it's just kids doing dumb shit. My son said this friend told him earlier in the day about some website where you can enter a person's name and it'll give out personal information which is how he found our numbers. My wife calmed down, but two hours later, we get a pizza delivery from domino's to a rdr2 character. So now I'm pissed. Prank calls or texts are one thing. Fucking with someone's house and another's job is over the line, imo. So i text the kid. Tell him who i am and tell him I'll see him at school Monday with the dean. He apologizes, first blames a friend for sending the pizza, then blames some random internet person who he says doxxed him, and showed me his internet history as "proof" he didn't look up my address. So he's obviously lying, but his internet history shows he searched the nazi flag. I asked him why he searched that and he said to edit the Elon musk thing with Hitler and audio.

So, kids being kids or should I tell the dean? I'm more worried about the Hitler shit than the prank, to be honest. I hate to judge a book by it's cover, but he looks like a certain type that would shoot up a school.

It's always virtue signaling. That's all they have to offer: pretending they're better than others while offering no real solutions. The virtue is a feature, not a bug. After thinking about it some more and talking to my wife and son, I've decided we're going to tell the parents tomorrow and the dean on Monday. I found the kids address. And it turns out that he likes to watch Instagram videos about 9/11 memes and jokes. That, combined with the nazi shit and the pranks, I told my wife the same thing you basically said. I don't want to be the person on the news the day after something horrible happens saying, yup, we should have seen this coming. Hopefully, it's just a kid being a dumb shit. But if not, maybe saying something will get him the help he needs, if it is indeed needed.
