Yeah. I have TRIED to make my magic system as easy to understand as possible from the get-go. It has pretty clear rules (and frankly is more or less a giant extended metaphor for income inequality disguised as a magic system) but it's also something that if someone WANTS to really dig into and go crazy with they probably could.

It was funny - when I originally was working on the setting by using my D&D campaign to flesh out worldbuilding details, I literally ordered my players to not ask questions about the eastern continent so I wouldn't have to write anything about it.

And then we spent an entire year on a seafaring adventure between the two continents and my brain was like "TIME TO FIGURE OUT THE EASTERN CONTINENT, IDIOT!!!!!!!" so I hoodwinked myself into worldbuilding a continent I literally disallowed my players from going to, lol. And now one of my favorite characters I've ever written is technically from there, even though he's only ever made appearances on the western continent, the southern continent and floating pirate metropolis.

Do they know the reason why Trump unfrozen MediCaid? Because he knows that shit is popular with his base and there is no way they will not feel not having it. Is so silly that they still think the disruption plan is not as hollow as accelerationists doom talk.

Which is non-controversially a statement of fact. Can Era find even one person who would choose to be on Medicaid over private insurance, if they had equal choice between both?

Like, you can say "we need medicaid and the ACA" without pulling a muscle trying to convince someone--who?--that either is of equivalent quality to private insurance. No one believes that and neither is marketed that way.

That's how it works for the US because their market is in such high demand. The Chinese had no choice but to keep selling stuff to the US and pay the tariffs (same as the Chinese automakers in Europe) because there aren't other buyers. Yes, they do put some of that cost on the consumer but China sells shit at a loss (government subsidized) to push out the competition. However, there is a limit to how low they can go if they have to pay the tariffs because either they increase their prices or they take a bigger loss (i.e. more government debt).

Canada and Mexico face the same problem. There aren't other buyers to step in and shipping overseas or dealing with EU regulations is more expensive than just driving goods over the border. A lot of the goods made in Mexico and Canada are often produced specifically to meet the demand of the US market.
