The most annoying thing here is that it seems like something close to 0% of the internet is able to hold these two ideas simultaneously:

1. The crash happened for reasons actually unrelated to Trump
2. Trump is still a stupid jackass dickhead

"Blame Trump" is a good way to never understand the state of the world, or address any actual problems. 

The medicaid thing pissed me off for the same reason. It's a shame the media is sort of totally captured by the same reactive Panic Chorus that we see on X and Era...information and facts are a tertiary concern at best, yelling "The sky is falling!" is what really matters.

The MediCaid stuff was indirectly his fault, thought. The worst stuff that has come from him has always been because pure incompetence and not giving a fuck about the consequences. I'm part of a polycule mostly made up of trans women, I have 5 partners personally and I've got to echo the sentiment that people are being really really gross about this in this thread. Seems like it always comes back to slut shaming and thinly veiled misogyny + homophobia when it comes to alternative relationship styles or practically anything else outside a monogamous straight relationship.

I've been dating mostly the same people for almost 5 years and it has been deeply fulfilling for me. I don't think I would ever go back willfully and I'm highly confident that I feel no less love for my partners than monogamous people do, and the same for them toward me.

Also, because I've seen it a couple of times in this thread: polyamory =/= polygamy. Polygamy usually implies an abusive dynamic in which one man has a ton of wives or whatever with a clearly unequal relationship. Polyamory is built on the principles of mutual understanding and a rejection of jealousy.

So, the polycule is a buch of dudes video chatting with their tops off squeezing their moobs. Got it. Now excuse me while I vomit.

I hate to say it, but mass marches around the country for BLM ultimately accomplished nothing. And that was when people had all the free time with the lockdowns. Expecting people to show up like that again when results haven't been proven, people's livelihoods are more strained than ever, and violence against protestors has been threatened by the President, is extremely short sighted.

I did see some liberals I know become straight up leftists during this time. Including the general discourse here on ResetEra. It may not have worked out great electorally for that to happen (people staying home in 2024 over Gaza, etc.) but IMO it's positive movement... if American democracy survives the next 4 years.
