I need to point out her argument about what poly people have in common is their "rejection of social norms and expectations" before immediately launching into being upset that other people are criticizing poly people for being outside of social norms and expectations.

You see this in all kinds of online "queer" spaces, where they make clear that their "queerness" is a brave and stunning stand against SOCIETY while also claiming that they "just" want society to "accept" it. Something that's obviously true but we should therefore expect that if society were to accept it they would drop from their identity to chase something new that would be "marginalized" so as to maintain their status of bold outsider challenging society simply by existing.

This is quite easy to demonstrate by looking back in the personal history of any of these people, as well as simply looking at their political stances which mostly consist of being against what they perceive as "centrist"/"chud"/etc. without any rhyme or reason or underlying unifying belief outside of that they currently hold those beliefs. Also look at their profiles where they seem to collect as many of these marginalized statuses as possible to move them further and further away from "society" with a perfect example being Android Sophia constantly self-diagnosing with improbable increasing sets of disabilities.

They are trend chasers but only trends that seem to inversely relate to what they perceive as majority opinion so as to further differentiate themselves and establish their personal individual uniqueness above all. They seek the solidarity of a community that is one: themselves. But they cannot ever escape the insecurity and be "comfortable in their own skin" because they externalize everything by outsourcing their entire existence to be determined by how they perceive others perceive them. Endlessly seeking that ONE WEIRD TRICK that will force others to treat them as they believe they deserve.

This also ties into the victim / oppressor dichotomy that their brains are dominated by.
