While it may seem ridiculous, it's not something that should be taken lightly either. How many times has Trump said something that seemed ridiculous, people said "no no THAT was a joke" and he got away with it? How many times did he then actually DO it? It's not 100% sure but it ain't 0% either.

Stop taking Trump lightly. He's not a bumbling buffoon incapable of real harm. He's a fascist currently in power. Take his threats seriously and respond seriously.

Who’s taking it lightly? You get that this shit isn’t 0 or 100, right? No one here’s taking Trump lightly. There’s a middle ground between not taking it seriously and irrationally spiraling. Folks’ mental health is already cooked enough… adding the incredibly implausible threat of war with Canada or WW3 to the mix is just gonna make people feel even more miserable for, again, something that has almost no chance of happening. I’m glad they’re nipping that type of talk in the bud.

People have been taking Trump lightly here for years. They did it before the election, they did it during the election, and they're doing it after the election. And if anyone tries to suggest "hey maybe we should take this seriously", they get called a doomposter. I've been complaining about this since like 2023.

But in this instance I don't think you'll find a post of me saying "WW3 is definitely happening and we should all buy fallout shelters". But also maybe we shouldn't be telling people to stop reacting rationally to a direct threat by a foreign power who has shown to be following through on threats people assumed he never would.

And I'm not talking about anything a mod said either. I'm talking about the forum. If Trump or the people connected to Trump starts talking some wild shit, take it seriously. Or at least stop shaming people who do. I don't think that's a hard ask of this forum.

Almost as if everything is more nuanced. I met the guy, he's an absolutely progressive left-leaning run-of-the-mill eastern European. Like most slav game devs he loves trolling, laughed when Trump won, when he lost, and when he won again. But he supports gay rights, abortions, think weapons are cool because he doesn't live in a country that's under constant threat of school shootings, supports Ukraine's fight against fascism and got really mad when Trump cozied with Putin and when we saw literal nazis popping up everywhere in Europe.

American binary politics shouldn't be slapped on people from diverse upbringings and ethnic backgrounds, it's incredibly silly and completely anti-DEI.

That's right! I'm back, y'all! 2/26/2024

…and hopefully I can keep the comics coming!

Back when I stopped in 2022, it was the middle of a busy holiday season, followed by some intense bad financial juju, a new job, a kid who had just turned 3, and a mountain of other things that made the notion of being able to do the comic regularly kind of an impossibility. It hurt to stop, because it’s the thing I’m most proud of, but when the mental health goes sploosh, so too do the extracurriculars, as it were.

However, I’m a little more than a month into my unemployment from that aforementioned job (that was a WHOLE THING) and while I’m working to get a new business set up, I’m currently in a place where I can make the time to do the comic again, and it feels SO GOOD. I’m even thinking maybe I could start a patreon and actually make doing the comic kind of sort of profitable! That’d sure be neat, ’cause BOY HOWDY do I love eating food! It’s the BEST!

You’ll probably have noticed some updates around here, as well! The website is FINALLY mobile-friendly, and even has the archive updated to include current years! That’s right – I’m complying with a decade-old design standard! Whee!
