I'd say it sounds like all he cares about is that people in the same circles care as much as he does. What good does them caring now do? Trump's not going to listen to them. Biden didn't, but Harris showed she was at least open to the idea. They used her refusal to throw Biden under the bus as evidence that she was no different even though she was the only person open to caring that they care.

Forgive me if this is offensive but is there any potential avenue with trans women making headway into men's sports?

Randomly heard it from my dad a couple weeks ago, him going "I have no problem with trans girls playing sports, but you were born as a man so it's more fair to play with men" and it had sounded wrong but in a way I legit hadn't really heard before. Like in my mind it reads like both keeping athletic aspirations while also breaking down barriers of gender expression though I have no idea if it actually works like that (and obviously the right-wingers would prefer you just disappear entirely).

I'm trying to think through alternatives because clearly trans women in women's sports is a massive no-go in this country, too many people are legitimately terrified of cis men transitioning just to swipe golf trophies and shit and I just don't know where else this can go here.

They discontinue their golden goose in this case Arkham Knight for no reason.
In most cases they also toss out their engines and make all the characters ugly. 

Nintendo and Capcom figured it out the hard way years ago. You just keep working on the games the people want and throw in a 'new thing' to see what sticks and if the ground shifts (Pragmata, Metroid Prime 4) you keep it on ice until conditions improve. Sell to your existing customers first, new customers second. It really is that simple. And despite all their blue ocean claims, that is exactly what Nintendo did with Breath of the Wild and the Switch.

And above all else you keep your games away from IRL politics. Although you can create the occasional kawaii protocols of zion (Xenoblade) or fascist waifu fantasy (Fire Emblem) you have to put it after the 10 hour intro so the journalists don't see it.
