And wedge issues only exist in the first place if one of the parties takes an extreme position that it refuses to back down from. This is why abortion is and always will be a wedge issue. It's why Democrats have been scared of immigration for decades because they constantly talk themselves into believing Latinx aren't against it because they imagine immigrants are all Latinx and all Latinx are immigrants.

I'm also participating in the retailer blackouts that are occurring--the most recent one being Feb 28th with an Amazon boycott currently underway, though it's gotten less traction--and trying to stay mindful of the more organized protests going on in NYC to join in.

The nebulous term "volunteering" makes me curious about what these people actually do when they drop vague virtue signals.
