I don't want to share too much personal information here, but I'd like to know what everyone's opinion here is. Let me be clear, I'm not talking about clothing or hygiene here, but all the stuff you cannot change about your appearance. From a beauty pov.

Growing up, I always heard 'appearance doesn't matter, it's the inner values that make you beautiful'. Except I kinda don't believe that anymore, if I ever id. The trigger was playing Genshin Impact today where EVERY hero is super hot, with Mavuika being peak ridiculous. But it's like that in pretty much all Japanese video games. Everyone is hot, unless they're intentionally ugly. But normal ugly or just 'not hot' doesn't exist. And while this example comes from videogames, my experience is that rl isn't different. What's your experience in life: Does physical beauty matter?

Edit: Because several people got hung up on it: Genshin Impact was just what triggered my thoughts today. It is not the root cause of my grievances with the topic of physical beauty, sheesh.

To be fair, the owner is a bit of a loon; a mutual friend suggested to her that I could help with running certain parts of her business online, but she apparently only wants female staff too, regardless of their position, be they remote-working or otherwise.

It's easy to imagine there is a self-preservation aspect to that.

Yeah there's definitely some sort of internet axiom like that and it is completely accurate. There are some posters on here who I see make so many threads they'll be in back to back to back to back in the OT list of threads

Don't take it personally, but you and there is another other poster that create like 5 threads per day, most of them asking very inconsequential stuff, you and the other poster don't really contribute much on those threads after creation either, I prefer quality over quantity and more personal mindful threads, many of these threads seem to be created by a forum thread creator generator.
