now the game wants me to go up another 10 ilvl to do the trial immediately after it. Even though none of the drops I got in the dungeon were for my class.

I don't want to grind. I'm tired of grinding. Tomestones are shit. Alliance raids are over-long and boring. I never get dungeon drops for my class. It's just a miserable experience to get hit with a "lol grind for two weeks, idiot" wall every time you want to do content.

And the market board economy is so fucked that trying to get a relevant weapon is 1-2 million gil, in a game where getting gil is impossible unless you grind up a crafter/gatherer class, which I do not have the inventory space to do even if I had the free time to do so.

I've been slugging at this shit all day and I'm still nowhere close to being able to do any of the new content. I wasted a few hundred thousand gil on a weapon and it barely impacted my ilvl at all. Did two alliance raid runs while desperately trying not to fall asleep from boredom and was able to buy some gloves that...didn't help nearly enough. Trying to replace six or seven pieces of ilvl 700 gear just to do a single trial is an absurd lift.

And since I know people love to talk about the market board, the problem with buying crafted gear is, as I said, there is currently no route for players who can't engage with the crafting system to make gil. There are no meaningful sources of gil anymore. I have literally been hovering around 12,000,000 for three straight years (genuinely, not an exaggeration) because there is no accessible way for me to get more, short of paying Square Enix real money for two more retainers so I can have the inventory space to actually level a gatherer or crafter or both.

And since I refuse to spend any extra real-world money on my subscription than I already pay them right now, any gil I spend on the market board is gil I can never get back. Doing that three times a year would render me unable to buy anything, even teleports. It's just an unrecoverable death spiral.

It's been a long time since I played this because fuck their monthly sub nonsense. One thing I remember though is the game makes it very clear that you should be crafting right from the start. I seriously do not believe anyone who's played it for "3 straight years" wouldn't have at least 1 high lvl character with crafting skills. You would have to be an actual retard to have spent all that time playing the game and not understood how important they are.

So the real villains are the democrats because they want to harm minorities but do it via secret means (that only Nepenthe can see.) how can you still have a 690 weapon. we're on the second raid tier, there's been more than enough time to passively collect tomes. It's not "Luck". It's his fault for coming around only for patches and expecting everything to be handed to him. All he has to do is wait until 1 week after savage releases, or sooner, and weapon prices will drop to 500 thousand and below.

Then again, it is probably true that nowadays fanfiction is one of the routes that leads to videogame writer, so I guess we'll see if these tropes become more and more prominent.

Fanfiction has always existed, but is just recently that a group of assholes have tried to “legitimize” it without being critical about it. Western dev publishers desperately need to clean house with their writers as even Japan seem to write more maturely than most U.S. centric devs that are not indie (and indies are not safe either from cringe writing, obviously).

This generation of pop culture and entertainment writers seem more interested in trying to justify themselves than actually get good.
